LAMERTON travelled to Saltash for a tough match against a side who had made a good start to the season.

The first ten minutes saw Lamerton have several chances, Kev Swift and Steve Wickett coming close, but the home side came more into the game and were dangerous on the break.

Good defending by Simon Breyley ensured a goalless first half.

St Stephens began the second half on the attack and only a great save from Pate Daniel prevented them from taking the lead.

Lamerton began to dominate the midfield and when it came the first goal was a cracker. Good work by Andy Williams and Paul Breyley fed Tony Jones on the left wing and his pinpoint cross was headed into the bottom corner by Kev Fedrick against his former club.

The second goal was an individual effort by Steve Wickett who expertly beat the keeper courtesy of a Kev Swift through-ball.

This Saturday home to Altarnun (league).
