A WEST Devon group has been given a £350 grant from the Co-operative Group . With the money from the grant, Northlew Children?s Group are planning to buy a shed to store a collection of new outdoor toys for the children. They previously have been unable to store outdoor toys. The group meets every Wednesday at Northlew?s Victory Hall. The club?s chair, Jayne O?Connel, said: ?We are grateful to the Co-operative for this donation. It will make the children really happy; they can?t wait.? The grant comes from the Co-operative?s Community Fund which offers grants between £100 and £5,000. About £100,000 is available annually to support charities and community groups in the region. Regional secretary for the Co-operative Group, Andrew North, said: ?The Community Fund can make a real and lasting contribution to local communities and we are delighted to support Northlew Children?s Group. ?Many community groups share our co-operative values and could benefit from an award and we would certainly like to hear from them.?
