A WOMAN from Horrabridge who is a careers adviser lost three stone after taking her own advice to join Slimming World.

Bonnie Heath was giving advice and guidance to young people, every day, as part of her job.

But Bonnie suffered severe health problems, which had put her in a wheelchair for a time and the weight had 'piled on'.

Finally, Bonnie took her own advice after looking in a full-length mirror and realised how her weight had spiralled out of control.

She decided to do something about it, joined the Tavistock Slimming World group, and managed to lose three stone.

Bonnie said: 'Life really does begin again, even at 60-plus, which is the new 40 anyway. I feel I have become part of warm and caring Slimming World family.

'What's amazing is that I can still have my roast dinners a glass or two of wine and even ice cream, which is my favourite food.'

Since losing weight Bonnie was working with groups of students that involved a 'getting to know you' exercise. Bonnie said: 'We all had to say something about ourselves so I revealed my age. The young people did not believe me, which I challenged because I thought they were teasing, but it was a genuine comment. This raised my self-esteem so much.'

'It has made such a difference to the way I view healthy eating that I have decided to become a consultant in order to "dish" out moral support, advice and guidance to others to help them achieve their dream and feel good about themselves, like I do.'

Bonnie will be taking over Yelverton's Rock Methodist Church Slimming World group, on Wednesday, October 28, 6.30pm.
