SATURDAY April 29 is the date for this year?s Tavistock Charity Bonanza (organised by Friends of Tavistock Area Support Services) when many local charities take part in what is often their major fund-raising event of the year. I am pleased to say that after many months of patient negotiation with the town council this event will again be at the Tavistock Pannier Market from 9am to 4pm. Friends of TASS would like to thank the many people who have supported us in reclaiming the use of the pannier market (even though it is for only one community day in the year), including town councillors, supportive charity groups and our friends in the community ? many of whom have made their thoughts known through your newspaper. On the day the whole of the ?inner quadrant? of the pannier market will be taken up by local charities all busy raising money to spend on the residents of Tavistock and area.
