NAVY bomb disposal experts were called to a house in West Devon on Monday to deal with a second world war incendiary bomb.

The unexploded ordnance was found by a man renovating a farm house in Meeth.

PC Mark Hoar described the bomb as being about 15 inches long and two inches in diameter and said they had no idea how it had ended up where it did.

It was taken away by the Navy and destroyed in a controlled explosion at Tavistock's Holming Beam range.

PC Hoar warned anybody finding anything suspicious not to touch it even if they think it might be safe, but to dial 999 immediately and await expert help.
