POLICE are appealing for information after the body of a 74 year-old man was found on Tuesday morning at Devonport Leat, close to Norsworthy Bridge at Burrator, Yelverton.

The body was discovered at around 10.10am. 

Police said they to not believe there to be any suspicious circumstances.

It is thought that the man went for a walk on Tuesday morning, although the fact that he may have been there overnight has not been ruled out.

The man is described as a white male, clean shaven with thinning hair. 

He was dressed for walking, wearing a beige jacket and trousers with a rucksack.

 Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the man in the vicinity of Burrator Reservoir recently.  If you were in the area, perhaps walking a dog or cycling, you may have seen this man.  Call 08452 777444.
