A SURPRISE windfall came the way of Bere Ferrers Villagers' Group recently.
Newly defunct Bere Ferrers Boating Association donated a total of £1,485 in residual funds to the villagers' group.
Chair Cllr Christine Grills thanked the association for its generosity and said it would be used for the benefit of all residents.
The group is currently working on a recreation field project which will open on May 31 amid games and celebrations.
