TAVISTOCK and Okehampton branches of the Devon Wildlife Trust have organised a spring-time treat for walkers this weekend.

The walk at Bluebell Wood, Meldon will be held on Sunday May 9 and will be followed by a cream tea at Kerslake Farm, Meldon.

Sue Boxall, chairman of the Tavistock branch, said: ?A similar walk last year proved very popular, so the groups are hoping for a good turn-out ? at this time of the year, the woods are filled with bluebells.?

Anyone who would like to come along and enjoy some friendly company is welcome to join the walk, including dogs on leads.

Meet at Kerslake Farm at 2pm ? call Lizzie St George on 01837 54892 for directions. Cream teas will be available for £3.50 adults, £1.50 children.

Tavistock Devon Wildlife Trust group?s next talk will be on May 12 at Tavistock Parish Church Centre, when Pete Smithers of the University of Plymouth will talk about insect hunting in Ecuador.
