I READ, with interest, the letter (July 6) ?Too many car park freebies?. Living in Bannawell Street I regularly walk through Taylor Square at various times of the day. There are a few cars which are permanently parked in the square, when parking regulations are in force and often on double yellow lines. They display no notices to indicate that they have any privilege over other residents allowing them to ignore parking restrictions. And what a privilege free parking in Tavistock is! This is yet another example of it becoming increasingly difficult for both residents and visitors to find short term parking in the town because a blind eye is being turned to those WHO abuse and take advantage by using these few remaining areas for long term parking. In Tavistock we obviously have what can only be described as selective residents? parking. It should be stopped. Mark Johnson 84 Bannawell Street Tavistock
