Belstone v Whimple
BELSTONE Cricket Club?s first appearance in the Corinthian Cup came to a rapid end last Friday when visitors Whimple outplayed them to record an emphatic eight wicket win with over half of the 16 eight ball overs remaining.
Belstone?s troubles began in the first over when both Woods and Edwards were caught at mid-on for ducks off the bowling of skipper Silk, with only a leg bye on the board.
Only opener Pete Gross batted with any application, being seventh out with the score on 44. The other batsmen fell to rash strokes or the considerable spin of Godsiff and the Sri Lankan Rajapakse.
Whimple then made short work of knocking off 58 runs for victory in just 48 balls.
