FAMILY and friends got together recently to hold a 100th birthday party for an Okehampton resident, at the Crossway Inn, at Folly Gate.

Mrs Rosamond Gibbon (pictured left), celebrated her centennial birthday with daughter Rosemary Thorpe, and other family members Mr and Mrs J Beard and Mr and Mrs R French.

Mrs Gibbon is a resident at Springfield Residential Home in Okehampton.

She moved to Okehampton five years ago, having previously lived in the South Hams for many years.

Friends who attended the celebration were Sheena Ford, Dorothy Penwell, Maggie White, Mr and Mrs S Byrne, Mrs Jean Shannon, Mrs Elizabeth De Vries and Mrs Helen Hiscox.
