TAVISTOCK athlete Adam Holland thanked all those who have backed his chosen charity, on his record breaking running efforts.

The Tavistock Athletic Club Athlete took part in the Brathey Challenge at Windermere in the Lake District, Cumbria, during May, in which he broke the world record for the fastest person to do 10 marathons in 10 days. Adam was also the youngest to take part. His total aggregate time was 32 hours 47minutes 3 seconds with an average mile time for 262 miles of 7mins 30 secs.

Adam said: I would like to say a big thanks to all those who sponsored me and gave me money to go to the charity I was running for. Those people from Fetcheveryone, Tavistock Hockey Club, Tavistock Primary School, Tavistock Athletic Club and my family and friends - also to my sponsor's Peter Bazley and Nigel Eadie.

Next year Adam will be looking to break his own world record and will be raising money for the Brathay Hall Trust —the charity that improves the well-being of thousands of disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.

Adam will be looking for support in raising the money, so if there is someone that has idea's or would like to help with a small event or party e-mail on [email protected]">[email protected] or by going to http://www.justgiving.com/10in10recordtango">www.justgiving.com/10in10recordtango
