Bideford Colts 5 Tavistock Colts 0 WITH several players missing through holidays and cricket commitments, Tavistock travelled to Bideford with only 13 players but borrowed two to make up the 15. The first half was all Bideford. Despite not having played together before, the Tavistock front row did well against big opposition with skipper Hammy Kerswill leading the way. Half time was 0-0. Tavistock came alive in the second half and were unlucky not to take the lead after 15 minutes of sustained pressure. Full back Mark Webber made several breaks and looked safe under the high ball as well as making a try saving tackle a metre out. Bideford took the lead with a well taken try in the left hand corner after a couple of missed tackles on the breaking winger. The forwards will only get better after this rusty display. The man of the match award went to Alex Chapple who was tireless in the loose and looked hungry for action. This week?s game is away to Cullompton.
