KELLY and Meadwell Hall was buzzing with activity as local residents gathered to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee weekend. A 'Big Lunch' was held on the Sunday, to which 55 residents attended.

Pat and Ray Brewer were presented with a present and flowers to thank them for their hard work in organising the event.

On the Monday, families gathered at Kelly House for an afternoon of competition races and games organised by members of the Kelly family, David Sark and Ken Northey. There was also a treasure hunt in the grounds of Kelly House and each child was given a Jubilee medal and sweets as prizes. Ending the weekend was a game of rounders in Belinda Fuller's field at Borough Cross and hot soup and rolls provided by the Young family, followed by the lighting of the jubilee beacon built by Antony Young.
