THE ?Big Draw? proved a real draw at Tavistock with many people coming to try their artistic skills.
Ten professional artists encouraged people to pick up a pencil and simply draw something.
The creative scheme was part of the Campaign for Drawing, aimed at bringing the pleasure of drawing to everyone ? free of charge.
Wildlife artist and potter Jenny Hale, of Coryton, brought the artists together, and her Workshop Under the Sky, project organised the venues.
These were at a yurt in Bedford Square, a special stall in the pannier market and at Betsy Grimbal?s tower.
Artists who volunteered their services were John Walters (wildlife artist), Jennie Hale ( wildlife artist/potter), Robin Armstrong (wildlife artist), Rita Smith (artist/architect), Mary Gillett (artist/printmaker), Nick Collier (artist), Patrick King (artist), Sue Ward (artist), Pat Bates (artist/textile designer) and Sally O?Neil (artist/architect).
Jennie Hale thanked Mainly Stationery of Tavistock for supplying some of the materials, Ecotox of Tavistock for helping with insect specimens drawn by people, and West Devon Council for its support.
