OKEHAMPTON College Big Band will be making a big impact on Friday, March 10, with a spectacular dinner and dance. The event was held for the first time last year and was so successful that staff behind it decided to make it an annual event. The band have had a memorable year, last October they undertook a short tour of Hong Kong. The food will again be supplied by the college?s food and catering students, all under the watchful supervision of head chef Sue Carn. To cope with the demand for tickets, the evening will be held in the largest venue the college has to offer, the sports hall. The night will start at 7.30pm with a sumptuous two course fork buffet. The Big Band will then take over proceedings, entertaining dancers throughout the evening with their heady mix of swing classics of the 30s and 40s through to soul era of the 60s. With the band performing several new songs for the very first time, the event promises to be spectacular. Tickets are £10 and are available from the college reception, which can be contacted on 01837 650910.
