CHILDREN in Milton Abbot will soon have a new place to play thanks to almost £25,000 in funding.

The money has come from Biffaward, a multi-million pound fund that helps build communities and transform lives through awarding grants to community and environmental projects across the UK.

It is hoped the project will provide a new focal point in the village and allow more fundraising activities to be run from the green area.

The project also includes vital improvements in access to the area and neighbouring church through the installation of handrails which are required because it is in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Milton Abbot Community Group has expressed thanks to everyone involved in local fundraising efforts over the past three years.
