SCHOOLCHILDREN from Brittany visited three schools in Tavistock during a five day trip to the area last week.

The pupils, who were from eight to ten years old, were from Ecole Notre Dame de la Charité school in Saint Pol de Léon.

Children spoke of their home town and sang songs during their visits to Tavistock and Whitchurch primary schools and St Peter's Junior School. It was an opportunity for the children to converse in French and English and learn each other's culture.

Weather permitting the French pupils were also going to visit Dartmoor and other attractions in the area. They were staying at Plymouth College.
