CONCERNS were raised at Mary Tavy annual parish meeting about possible sewerage problems at a new development.
A proposal to build 16 units, incorporating six local needs dwellings — four for rent and two shared equity units — off Warren Road and Wheal Road has led the parish council to question whether the existing sewerage system would have the capacity to serve the properties.
A letter from South West Water confirmed that the developer, Midas Homes, had been informed of the inadequacies of the system.
South West Water spokesman, Paul Breakwell, said they understood that Midas Homes would be funding any works necessary to bring the system up to the required level.
The final decision on the scheme will be made by Dartmoor National Park planners tomorrow (Friday).
