TAVISTOCK Pannier Market has launched a new facility for customers with mobility problems.

The market now has a wheelchair, generously donated by Tavistock Mobility, which customers may use to get around the market.

Anyone needing to use the wheelchair simply has to sign for it when visiting the market, and sign it back again when they have finished their shopping.

Market reeve Eddie Carruthers said staff were delighted to offer the new facility and hoped shoppers with mobility problems would be able to make good use of the new wheelchair.

Colin Wyatt, area manager for Tavistock Mobility, which supplies wheelchairs, scooters, stair-lifts and a wide variety of mobility aids from its shops in Tavistock, Launceston and Bude, said: ?We have a strong commitment to the local community, and we are pleased there was a contribution we could make to Tavistock Pannier Market so all their customers, whatever their age, could enjoy the market.?
