Okehampton U9s 40 Exeter Saracens 25 OKEHAMPTON U9s played their best rugby of their season so far against Exeter Saracens and the first half was an exciting and close match. The boys found their passing skills and that allowed some clear running rugby. There were great long-range trys from Oke's Joe Mawle and Owen Wonnacot, both running the length of the pitch to score. But this was a team effort, with tries possible due to some crunching tackles and support play. Saracens were no pushovers, with solid tackles of their own and more wide passing, but at half time the score was 20 -10 to Okehampton, thanks to three tries from Joe Mawle and one from Owen Wonnacot. It was more of the same in the second half, with Joe running in four more trys. The last was the pick of the bunch – a move started by Ross Davidson, with a run through the middle and finishing in a ruck. Liam Pyle assumed scrum half role and passed out to Daniel, who went on another surging run ending with a pass out to Joe to touch down in the corner.
