THE beautiful bluebells growing in the grounds of Okehampton Castle can be enjoyed for free next weekend, when English Heritage holds its annual Bluebell Sunday.

Visitors to the Castle will be able to enjoy the colourful blooms on Sunday May 12 during opening hours, between 10.30am and 5pm.

Alan Endacott, English Heritage area manager, said Bluebell Sunday was a great opportunity for people to visit the castle, which dates back to the eleventh century.

'Lots of local people take the opportunity to come and see the bluebells and have a picnic in the grounds after visiting the castle,' said Mr Endacott.
