BERE Alston United Fun Run proved a winner both for the football club and a local hospice.
The race, which was sponsored by John Simpson. was organised to help raise money for the club and also to donate part of the proceeds to St Luke's Hospice.
Seventeen runners went to the post, outside Langsford Park (pictured above) for the five mile run along Crowndale Road and back to Bere Alston.
Second team midfield engine Dave Byworth was an emphatic winner, romping home in a time of 33.5 minutes. However, two of the players – naming no names — took the fun spirit a little too far and cheekily thumbed a lift up the hill.
It was a great day with the money pledged reaching a superb £834 and the club would like to thank all those that took part and everyone who made a kind donation.
