Bere Alston United 3 Biscovey 0
A fine team performance saw Bere Alston pick up their first home win since mid December and move a further three poins away from the relegation zone and into a comfortable mid table position.
Manager Kevin Taylor called up in form striker Graham Galway from the reserves and he immediately set about the Biscovey defence, linking up well with Mike Curtis as Bere took the game to their opponents.
Mike Curtis, Graham Galway and Dan Follett had all gone close, when Bere eventually took a deserved lead after ten minutes.
Good link up play between, Graham Galway, Joe Hodgkiss and Dan Follett saw Follett set up Mike Curtis for a well taken close range finish.
For the next 20 minutes Bere had enough chances to have killed the game, but the Biscovey keeper saved well from Dan Follett and Graham Galway, while Will Westlake and Joe Hodgkiss squandered two other chances when well placed.
Dan Follett was also unlucky to see his looping header rebound off the crossbar.
Biscovey almost got themselves back into the game and went close with two headers that flashed wide while just before half time, Joe Hodgkiss was put through by Graham Galway only to see his shot well saved by the Biscovey keeper.
A minute later Hodgkiss was again sent racing clear, this time by Steve Piper and he made no mistake with a low drive into the bottom corner to send Bere into the break with a 2-0 lead.
Biscovey started the second half with more purpose and forced Craig Howells into a smart save.
They were almost rewarded five minutes later when the referee adjudged Steve Piper to have passed back to Craig Howells, but the Bere defence blocked the resulting free kick and broke away almost immediately to score and make the game safe.
A flowing move from deep inside their own half ended with Graham Galway cutting in from the left and setting up Mike Curtis to slot the ball home for his second and Bere's third.
