BERE Alston residents and shoppers have generously supported local charity Weir Quay Water Sports Hub Club.
The hub’s two member clubs — Tamar and Tavy Gig Club and Weir Quay Sailing Club — have built a shared dinghy and gig park at Weir Quay. The two clubs are now seeking more than £35,000 of funds to build the essential boat shed that will house dinghies and gigs.
The Bere Alston Co-op has generously supported this process by encouraging the customer dividends to be dedicated to the appeal, along with the five pence fee for plastic bags.
The hub club expressed thanks to the Bere Alston Co-op staff for all their work on the club’s behalf.
Anyone who can help support the scheme to create training facilities for the Weir Quay cadets and junior rowers can contact Graham Reed by emailing [email protected]
