THE AFC Bodmin side immediately put pressure on Calstock with the first attack of the game but the home defence stood strong.

Calstock got onto the score sheet early through Darren Benfield netting his 11th goal of the season. Both teams created goal scoring opportunities but were unable to score. Brothers Stephen Cottingham and Paul Cottingham stood strong in defence clearing up any loose balls and breaking down any attacks from the opposition.

There were some good spells of possession for Calstock with Jon Tilbury and Lee Webb passing the ball well and spreading the play to the wide men Shane Richards and Lee Hould.

Benfield came close and could have killed off the game with some great chances but was unable to finish.

Calstock full backs Mark Blanks and Gareth Layer performed well and played some great balls forward for Ross Lavers and Benfield to attack.

Towards the end of the game AFC Bodmin put a lot of pressure on Calstock and came close twice, however, Michael Jones made two crucial and great saves to ensure that Calstock took all three points.

Man of the match went to Michael Jones for his solid performance in goal. Calstock will face Camelford in their next game this weekend.
