YOUNGSTERS from?Kelly College Preparatory School were in the open air for a recent art lesson.

A parent brought a horse in during the day and the pupils sketched the animal as part of their current topic in which they are looking at horse paintings by artists such as George Stubbs and Franz Marc.

The school's nursery children have also been out and about — they recently visited an orchard to examine and taste different varieties of local apples.

They explored the orchard, picking apples off the trees and collecting windfalls, and at snack time they enjoyed apple juice and a slice of home-made apple cake.
