I BUY the Times every week and enjoy reading it.

I am fed-up with people writing in on your letters' page, giving dogs a bad name.

Every week it seems there is someone moaning about dogs.

It is not the dogs' fault, it is irresponsible dog owners.

I bet that these people who moan about dogs do not even have a dog.

I agree dogs should be kept on a (leash) lead as not everyone likes dogs as pointed out in last weeks letters' page. If more exercise is needed we have the lovely moors where dogs can run free (but not near sheep).

Why should dog owners and their dogs not enjoy the meadows? We pay our taxes as well you know.

So come on, be nice to our furry friends and don't label everyone with the same brush.

TO all those correspondents who use your columns to complain about dog mess. May they now be equally vociferous in condemning those who drop unprecedented amounts of litter on our roadsides and the local authorities' lack of action in clearing it.
