I was interested to read of the unfortunate experience of June Pearton (Letters, January 26).

I have been a GP in Tavistock for nearly 24 years, from time to time visiting patients in Devonia  Nursing Home and parking outside, in the car park.

I recently received a parking ticket during one of my visits, as has one of my partners. I had not noticed new displays about parking fees, or have been very lucky in the previous years of visiting.

Please make your readers aware of these high charges when using local Leg O' Mutton amenities, or visiting friends and relations in Devonia Nursing Home.

I hope a large proportion of the charges are going to the Yelverton community  and not to the large national car parking company!
