A BBC documentary about the crisis in farming next Tuesday (July 25) will focus on Hatherleigh.
Against the backdrop of Hatherleigh's preparations for its annual carnival 'Home Ground: Don't Stop the Carnival' (BBC2, 7.30pm) talks to the people on the receiving end of the worst recession to hit farming for 60 years.
The programme provides a bleak snapshot of the problems facing the agriculture industry nationwide and will show how farmers are feeling battered from all sides by forces beyond their control.
