THE organisers of the Okehampton Battle of the Bands have announced the dates of the 2012 competition heats and the Party in the Park finale.

The three heats, where six bands battle it out for a place in the finale, will take place in the Charter Hall on Wednesday, July 18, Wednesday, July 25 and Wednesday, August 1.

The spectacular finale in Simmons Park will take place on Saturday, August 11, with a whole host of activities being planned for the event.

The website for the competition will be live on February 1, with the organisers accepting entries from March 1.
