THE mayor of Okehampton Cllr David Weekes swapped his chain of office for a chef's hat and cooked bangers and mash at the Charter Hall last weekend.

The event raised £202 for the mayor's charities. Age Concern and Dartmoor Railway.

Cllr Weekes expressed thanks to everyone who supported the event and to Farmer Luxton's, Martin's Butchers and Robert Wiseman Dairies who provided the sausages, cream and milk.

The potatoes were provided by Julian Hucker from Bean Feast.
