YOUNG bands have been rehearsing for their big night in Okehampton, where they will be playing with other local groups and well known band Two Foot Giant, to celebrate the Reverb music project in Okehampton. Beaford Arts successfully secured funding from Youth Music to run the project with young musicians in Okehampton, Torrington and Barnstaple, focusing on up and coming young bands to develop their music technology skills. Over the last two months, professional musicians have been working with Reduced, Paradox and the Connie Project at Okehampton College to record a demo CD of their work. The bands will perform as supporting acts for Two Foot Giant, at the Charter Hall, Okehampton on Saturday June 18, doors open at 7pm for a 7.30 start. Mike Cook, one of the lead musicians said: ?The bands have worked really hard on performance development, vocal and rehearsal techniques, as well as learning new recording and mixing skills.? Tickets for the gig will be £3 on the door or ring Beaford Arts and book in advance.
