EXPANSION plans by Calstock Rowing Club have been supported in principle by the parish council.
The club wants to develop a clubhouse and pontoon at the parish quay which is underused at the moment.
A presentation about the plans was made recently to Calstock Parish Council's moorings committee.
Cllr Norma Greenslade said there was a long way to go but the council supported the project in principle.
'It has to go to planning, the Queen's Harbourmaster and the Environment Agency so it is very early days and there is a lot of work to do before they put up a building.'
The rowing club has almost 100 members but has limited facilities and inadequate storage space. The clubhouse would give the club a base and provide a safe area for its many junior members.
