THE Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, based in Derriford Hospital, is appealing to people in West Devon for donations of baby clothes.

They are asking, in particularly, for clothes in sizes pre-term‚ early baby‚ tiny baby‚ and 0-3months. They are also appealing for muslins to be made into snuggles. The unit is unable to take knitted items.

Sister Vanessa Allen said: 'Having a baby being cared for in the Neonatal Unit is a daunting time for any parent and we want to make things as easy for them as possible. When babies are with us, we will often put them in clothes we keep on the unit.

'When clothes are donated to us we either include them with our collection for babies being cared for on the unit or we make them available for parents or family members to purchase.

'All proceeds go to the Neonatal Unit.'
