FOLLOWING a 2-1 away win against St Dominick Reserves Chillaton B find themselves equal second in Division 4 — a well deserved spot gained by good performances by beating St Dominick at home 5-0, North Hill 1-0 and Polperro 4-0.

This, coupled with a 2-0 home win against St Merryn in the Division 4 Cup gives John O'Hare's young side a confident boost.

Hannant and Cowling's partnership is proving lucrative and with the support of Cole, Rowe and Crockford playing in front of a settled midfield and defence the side looks well balanced.

Chillaton's A team has gone through an unsettled spell and following a 3-2 defeat at Padstow and a 0-0 half-time score in an abandoned game at Gunnislake, started to get it together on Saturday with a 2-1 home win against Division 2 leaders Southgate Utd.

A club side took the field on Sunday against St Dominick first team. They were 3-2 down at half-time and proceeded to allow a further six goals to be scored against them by a competent Premier League side.

A STRONG wind made the game difficult but both sides adapted well.

Southgate, playing with the wind from the start, were soon on the attack and a quality save by Pete Daniel kept the score blank.

The Yellows went close on two occasions and on the half-hour took the lead when Simon Breyley pushed the ball past Nigel Dennis in the Southgate goal.

The visitors came back within five minutes with an own goal from a corner.

The second half was fairly even but with Chillaton's pace forward causing the visitors problems a goal looked on the cards.

Steve Daymond played the ball forward for Simon Thyne who healed over the keeper to make the score 2-1.
