DANCERS in Tavistock had their skills tested as they took part in recent dance examinations.
Miss Trudi's School of Dance in Tavistock held an examination session at King's in Pixon Lane. Judith Lockwood-Urban, a professional teacher and examiner from Penzance, came to examine the pupils.
The National Association of Teachers of Dancing (NATD) examinations were taken in ballet, tap and modern dance from grade one to grade five, and song and dance and character examinations were taken as Rainbow awards by pupils from three to six years old.
Fifty-one examinations were entered, with some pupils taking more than one exam.?Forty-seven entries received merits and four received very high passes.
Miss Trudi's School of Dance has been established in Tavistock for 18 years and holds classes in the town on Monday and Thursday evenings. Places are currently available for children aged six or over for September, and pupils aged three to five can now register for January 2013.
