DESCRIBED as ??the Voice of her generation?, renowned singer-songwriter Amy Wadge will appear at The Wharf Theatre, Tavistock later this month (January). Voted Best Female Solo Artist in the Welsh Music Awards of 2002 and 2003, Cardiff-based Amy (although only 27) has been playing her guitar and generally ?experimenting with music? since the age of 10. Her recording career also goes back a long way. When she was just 14, she was half of the team, ?Two of a Mind?, whose version of ?The Great Pretender? reached number 75 in the music charts. More success followed with the release in 2001 of her debut single, ?Saddest Eyes? and two years later, Amy embarked on her first UK tour with a full band. The successful shows featured Amy on guitar, piano and vocals. A single, ?Just in Time?, was released at the end of 2003 and, the same year, Amy was invited to perform in Sydney, during the Rugby World Cup. Amy Wadge is at The Wharf at 8pm on January 28. Box office on 01822 611166.
