SHOWING your collection of knickers to a roomful of strangers may sound daring, but ?The Knicker Lady? has no such inhibitions.

The Knicker Lady Rosemary Hawthorne comes to the Clinton Hall in Merton tomorrow night (Friday) to present a ?A Brief History of Unmentionables? as part of the Village Voice touring arts scheme.

The unuusual night out, staged by Beaford Arts, features established actress Rosemary taking the audience through the knickers of our ancestry.

From a collection of ageing trunks and boxes, Rosemary whisks out examples of pantalettes, bloomers and divided drawers as she races through three hundred years of underwear? how it worked and who wore it.

Part history lesson, part theatre, part cabaret this show was directed by Jennifer Sutherland and has toured nationally and internationally to venues such as the Theatre Royal in Bath and the Edinburgh Festival.

The show begins at 7.30pm with licensed bar, for more information telephone 01805 603428.
