Authors plan war memorial follow-up

A RECENTLY published account of the Tavistokian lives lost in World War One has met with such interest that the authors plan to write a follow-up.

?We Will Remember Them? is a series of mini biographies commemorating each of the 119 men named on the Tavistock War Memorial.

Now the authors, Gerry Woodcock and Alex Mettler, are asking for information about the 40 casualties who gave their lives during the Second World War and whose names are listed on the memorial.

Mr Woodcock said: ?We would like to shed a little light on their lives ? we see this book as a small repayment of debt to those who sacrificed so much.? Anyone who knew or is related to any of the 39 men and one woman named on the cross is asked to contact Mr Woodcock on 01822 613597.
