A SLAVE auction held last month at the Clovelly Inn, Bratton Clovelly, raised £1,500 for the Bratton Clovelly under-fives. Twenty-nine lots went under the hammer, including plumbing, cleaning, building, dog-walking, and ironing services. The offer to design and build a three-page website caused one of the keenest bidding frenzies. And a three-night stay in Derbyshire also attracted high bids. Other lots included bottles of wine, half a lamb, and a mystery box. The auction was preceded by a two-course meal, which attracted around 50 diners, with more people attending for the bidding.
