Whitchurch U13s v
Kingsbridge U13s
THE Kingsbridge pair of Fraser and Herbert-Reed turned in a match winning performance with bat and ball to ease to victory.
Whitchurch, winning the toss and batting first, were put under intense pressure by an exceptional opening attack with Fraser, left arm, accurate and exceedingly quick, backed up by the nagging accuracy of Herbert-Reed.
Whitchurch only scored 12 runs from 8 overs and lost the vital wicket of Brereton. Honey and Gray played well but found runs hard to come by against the well disciplined bowling and fielding of Kingsbridge as Whitchurch reached 65 for 1 off their 20 overs.
When Kingsbridge batted, the openers Fraser and Herbert-Reed got off to a quick start as Whitchurch pressed too hard. Whitchurch gained some control when MacRae had Herbert-Reed well caught by Honey and the persistence was rewarded when Gray bowled Treeby, however, Fraser stood firm and when Taylor edged Davies to third man boundary a Kingsbridge win was secured.
Whitchurch man of the match: Ian Gray.

Wayfarers U17s v
Ivybridge U17s
WHITCHURCH Wayfarers U17s despatched their Ivybridge counterparts with a resounding 111 run winning margin. It was largely due to an opening stand of 132 between skipper Peter Freedman (45) and Richard Hall who went on to record his maiden century, finishing undefeated on 104.
Freedman and Hall set their stall out early demonstrating the understanding they have built over the past few years running ones, twos and threes almost at will.
At the fall of Freedman's wicket, Jude Rotton (18no) joined Hall and together they took the score on to 185 in the 25 overs available.
The Ivybridge reply never really got off the ground due to an improved display of bowling and fielding.
Oliver Field (2-5), Nathan Patrick (1-8) and Peter Williams (0-13) were pick of the regular bowlers with a helping hand from part-timers Paul Dunstan (1-0) and Richard Freedman, who normally keeps wicket for the under 15s, returning figures of 3 for 7.
Patrick, Williams, Peter Freedman, James Aggiss, Hall and Richard Rouse all weighed in with sharp catches to seal a well deserved victory.
Will Tuft (Ivybridge) and Richard Rouse (Whitchurch) were fielders of the match).
