WITHOUT exception, every person in and around the area that I have spoken to regarding an assault on Afghanistan has been against it. Such an attack is wrong, will cause misery, and is likely to fuel terrorism rather than stamp it out.
It concerns me that the views that I have heard locally may be replicated all over the country, and that millions may be dismayed by the bombing. done partly in our name. It seems that war has been planned, prepared and prosecuted in response to a unique crime without time for full consideration of the consequences.
We have seen commonsense betrayed and the House of Commons almost ignored. What does our own MP John Burnett have to say on these matters?
