TWO Olympic medal winning modern pentathletes from West Devon feature on the shortlist for places on the British Olympic Association's Athletes' Commission.
Kate Allenby from Tavistock and Heather Fell from Merrivale were this week named among 33 Olympians from 16 sports vying for election for the 12 remaining seats on the commission.
Allenby struck bronze for Great Britain at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games and also finished eighth at Athens in 2004. Fell won the silver medal at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
British athletes on the World Class Performance Pathway and Olympians who have represented Team GB since 1998 can vote in the poll, which opened on Monday and closes on 28 June. Results will be announced in July.
The Athletes' Commission represents the voice of athletes and contributes an athlete perspective to decision making by the BOA team.
