MAGISTRATES in Bodmin ordered the closure of a rented property in Callington this week because of 'overwhelming' evidence of anti social behaviour.
The ASBO closure order related to 38 Launceston Road, a privately rented property owned by Bruce Burton. The order will remain in place for three months.
This is the second closure of one of Mr Burton's rented properties — the last was on January 2010 at Moonsfield in Callington, which again lasted for three months.
The order was sought by Cornwall Council's anti-social behaviour team and supported by the police who said neighbouring residents had to endure six months of persistent disorder and serious nuisance including fighting in the street, parties until 6am, smashing windows and swearing.
