ROCK music fans really will be spoilt for choice this weekend with a band depicting the best of glam rock and another thumping out those big power ballads of the 1980s heading to Tavistock.
Tomorrow night (Friday) sees the return of the world renowned T.Rextasy fronted by Marc Bolan sound and lookalike Danielz — and this isn’t just another tribute band.
T-Rextasy has been out on the circuit for over 20 years now and has the full blessing and support of former members of T Rex as well as Marc’s family.
Not just that, but how many tribute bands can claim to have shared the stage with the contempories of the band they emulate – Danielz and co have played alongside Slade, Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel and Roy Wood.
So glam up and be transported back through the very best of those glam years with a full pandoras box of hits.
And on Saturday (September 24) get ready for the big ballads and out and out rocking numbers associated with Foreigner and Journey.
Well known all over the world, Foreigner and Journey are giants of the genre best known as adult orientated rock and have been huge draws as live acts since forming in the 1970s.
The two bands have achieved massive commercial and critical success and both sold in excess of 80-million albums, their supreme musical quality meaning that they’ve never been victims of trends or passing fashions. Sadly for those in the UK, their shows over here have been few and far between. Which is why Foreigner’s Journey have found such a secure niche and will be delivering a repertoire that includes Urgent, Juke Box Hero, Waiting for a Girl like You and I Want to Know What Love is, Don’t Stop Believing, Who’s Sorry Now and Anyway You Want It.
