WORKS such as woodturning, lacework, stone painting and cardmaking, are just some of the items that will be on offer at the Dartmoor Arts and Crafts Show, which takes place in August at Princetown Primary School writes Ruby Lovell.

Now in its 17th year, the popular show's proceeds go to the school. Visitors travel each year from as far afield as North Somerset, East Dorset and the far west of Cornwall.

This year's show will feature works by around 100 or more artists and crafts-people, both professional and amateur, across the whole spectrum of creative arts and crafts, practising in and around Dartmoor and South East Cornwall.

The event will also feature demonstrations of many arts and crafts with displays of completed works for sale and materials, kits and tools for the beginner, as well as the expert, to develop existing and new skills.

Refreshments will be available and are provided by members of High Moorland WI. There is free parking in the school grounds. The doors are open daily from August 2 to 11 from 10am to 5pm. Admission is £2.50 and accompanied children are free.
