THIS year's Dartmoor Arts and Crafts Show was once again deemed a success, with exhibitors having produced a variety of wares that had many visitors browsing, receiving advice and learning techniques.

Princetown Primary School, which hosted the event, was filled and the revenue from admission charges raised £1,650 to give to the school.

For 2013 there are already in place large exhibitions of embroidery, quilts, a possible display of ecclesiastical embroideries and both a display and demonstrations by lace makers. The show starts on August 1 next year.

Some of the exhibitors and sellers have also already booked for the three-day Dartmoor Christmas Fair that will take place at the school from October 31 until November 2.

The Christmas fair has been held for a number of years and is now an established part of the arts and crafts movement in the south west.

Admission to the fair is free and there is plenty of parking. High Moorland Women's Institute will provide the refreshments, raising funds for their own local charitable objectives.

There is still space for stands at the Christmas Craft Fair which will also raise funds for the school.
