WEST Devon art group, Drawn To The Valley, is preparing for its next exhibition with a difference from tomorrow (Friday).

'Harvesting Time', a joint initiative between Drawn To The Valley and Tamar Valley AONB's Cordiale Project, has encouraged artists to explore their heritage and listen to people who live and work in the valley, to stimulate the creation of pieces of work which respond to sustainability, ecological and environmental issues.

Drawn To The Valley member Tessa Clarke said: 'Think about how the Tamar Valley might be in another 100 years. What will still be here? Do we appreciate how the land has supported us and are we prepared to protect our heritage?

'Artists can help people answer these questions. They can tell the stories of the past in a different way.'

Anyone who would like to look back into archives, speak to local people who lived and worked in the valley, look at past artists' work to see how the land has changed and visit special places and learn about them from someone who knows about the history and heritage, should visit the Harvesting Time exhibition from October 19 to 31 at the Tamar Valley Centre.
