LAST Friday the Mayor of Tavistock Cllr Sue Bailey joined the vicar and members of the congregation of St Eustachius’ Church at a cream tea and art and craft exhibition, in the Parish Rooms, to raise funds for the refugee crisis in Europe.
The mayor spoke about the great need to support these vulnerable people.
There were splendid pieces of art, fine examples of wood turning, quilting, cross stitch, knitting, recycled clothing, bags and beads on show, all provided by members of the congregation and friends.
The event raised over £700 which is going to the British Red Cross. They urgently need funds to provide food, water, nappies, first aid kits and funds to pay for medical assistance.
